Here you will find handmade pine products with original graphite artwork featuring the wonderful wildlife we are surrounded by here in Montana. We wouldn’t be without our furry members of the family so domestic animals feature in our work too!
My husband and I are lucky enough to be able to do what we love and call it work! Working with wood and drawing artwork along with being outdoors with our horses and dogs make for the perfect combination.
Gathering wood with our horses.
We use Lodgepole Pine as the main wood for our work and collect our own trees from local ranches here in Montana. If a dead tree is likely to fall on a fence or trail, or maybe damage a nearby live tree, we go and collect it. Often vehicles cannot get to these remote trees – so we use our horses.
The larger tree trunks are cut into short pieces and our pack horse Nick carries them out for us. Once home we use our own sawmill to make the lumber used for our products.
Tree branches are loaded into pack panniers which Elsa, our other equine team member brings out.Our log jewelry boxes as well as the fridge magnets and bookmarks are made from these branches.
All year round we help out on local ranches and see a variety of wildlife, year round. Riding a horse in beautiful countryside, miles from anything manmade can make for some pretty incredible views of animals and birds.
Being able to see this at first hand and then draw wildlife onto wood we harvest ourselves is a privilege, the story behind our work.
Natural Coloring and Marking in the Wood.
The pine trees we use have had pine beetle activity in them which provides blue colorings and beautiful markings in the wood.
Each piece of wood is unique because of these features and as we have our own selection of wood, we can hand select the pine for each item we make.
As you can see we are involved in every aspect of the work needed to produce the items we sell. From finding the trees, bringing them home and producing high quality lumber, to the finishing touches in the workshop and the pencil art on each piece. No two items are ever the same and every day is spent doing something different, be it in the mountains, the workshop or at the easel.

Be it a pet portrait on a ring box or adding a date and name to a bookmark or Christmas ornament we can custom make anything to suit your needs.
